GRiTT ~ Girls Rock It Tools and Trades

Zonta Club of Coos Bay Area and the Coos Bay Area Zonta Service Foundation are pleased to announce our fifth annual Girls Rock it Tools & Trades (“GRiTT”) summer camp!

This free program, geared toward girls aged 8-12, teaches basic construction methods using handheld tools. Campers also learn leadership skills, participate in teambuilding activities, and hear from local women in leadership and trade professions.  

  • Introductory session: Weds-Fri August 6-8, 2025 (9am-2pm) – basic construction project (available to youth who did not participate in the GRiTT 2021-2024 programs)
  • Intermediate session: Weds-Fri August 13-15, 2025 (9am-2pm) – advanced construction project (available to 2025 Introductory campers and 2021-2024 campers)

    Camp is held at Oregon Coast Artisan & Trade Education Collective, located at the Old Charleston School (64051 Seven Devils Rd, Coos Bay). Camp materials, lunch and snacks are provided. Transportation to and from the camp is the responsibility of the parent/guardian.

    Both sessions are capped at 16 campers; if more than 16 applications are received campers will be chosen by lottery drawing.
