The Zonta Club of the Coos Bay Area is a charitable organization under the umbrella of Zonta International, a worldwide organization dedicated to women’s equality. The local Zonta club raises money to support projects that empower and support women in our community. This year, as was the case last year, we have needed to be creative with our fundraising. Our goal is to raise 15k to fund scholarships and programs for women and girls. Last year, our local club gave 30k in scholarships, provided supplies to domestic violence survivors, implemented a camp for girls to learn carpentry (Girls Rock Tools and Trades), in addition to partnering with other organizations like the Salvation Army to maximize our impact on the community.
